Calla Lilies Pin
Tamara de Lempicka (1898-1980) was a Polish painter who worked between France and the US in the art deco style. While she is most well-known for her portraits of the wealthy and of nude women, she also took part in the art deco trends of floral still-lifes. Her "Calla Lilies" or "Les Arums," is frequently dated to 1941, though her estate suggests its style and technique more likely place it in the early 30s. Calla lilies were a frequent motif for art deco and modern artists, with the unique form of the flower particularly evocative in painted form. The painting features a loose bouquet of white calla lilies.
