Under The Sun boxed set of 8 assorted cyanotype greeting cards.
A cyanotype is a photographic process founded in 1842 by Sir John Herschel mainly as a way of reproducing documents known as blueprints. About a year later, Anna Atkins famously used the cyanotype process to document physical algae specimens and became the first person to illustrate a book using photographic images. Cyanotypes can also be referred to as sun prints. Each of my art prints comes from a high resolution scan of an original cyanotype where I have hand-coated paper to eventually produce the famous white silhouette on a Prussian blue background.
